We will have four Advent messages beginning on the weekend of November 29/30 and concluding with the family Christmas services on the weekend of December 20/21. We cover the history, purpose, and meaning of Advent, how it fits in the “church year calendar;” the Advent wreath, etc. We use movie themes for the subtitles of each message. We think BACK (past) to Jesus’ first coming and the fact that we HAVE BEEN SAVED. We think NOW (present) about Jesus’ personal coming into our lives and the fact the we ARE SAVED. We think AHEAD (future) to Jesus’ second coming and the fact that we WILL BE SAVED. And then we celebrate and proclaim His coming!
