Message from Pastor Mark

Sharon and I were moved and blessed by the many expressions of love and affirmation extended to us on Sunday, October 7 at the celebration of our 25th anniversary here at King of Kings. Please accept our thanks on so many levels for the kind words, the personal gifts to us, the donations to PLI International, and the many other ways you expressed your love to us. We love you and always will.

— Pastor Mark and Sharon

Connect Class

Anyone who is interested in membership or just wants to find out more about King of Kings will be able to Connect on almost any Sunday. This four-week course will be led most weeks by Pastor Roger and will cover the basics of Christian faith and Lutheran doctrine. Connect class will also help get you plugged in to serving and small groups right away. Questions? Stop by the Next Steps Room to find out more! Contact Brenda Denne at brenda@kingofkingsomaha.org to register.

Lutheran World Relief

The Lutheran Women’s Missionary League (LWML) would like to say thank you to all those who generously donated school supplies for the Lutheran World Relief school kits. We packed 181 school kits, exceeding our goal of 150! What a blessing this will be to those who will receive them.

On October 29, the LWML will be packing personal hygiene kits for Lutheran World Relief.  We are in need of the following items:
• Light-weight bath-sized towels (27″X52″), dark color recommended
• Sturdy combs and nail clippers
As of now, we have enough soap and toothbrushes. We really appreciate all donations, and ask that the supplies be brought to King of Kings by October 24.  Supplies can be dropped off at the church office and should be labelled “LWR supplies–Mission Room”.

Faith Formation at Home – Elementary Families

Parents of elementary age children are invited to join us for a new session of Faith Formation at Home, where we’ll look at the importance of creating an atmosphere in your home that makes talking about God easy. This session meets October 28, with breakfast from 8:30-9am and teaching from 9-10:15am. RSVP online at kingofkingsomaha.org.

Israel Presentation

Pastor Theimer has recently returned from a trip to Israel with a group from King of Kings. If you’re interested in hearing stories or seeing pictures of the trip, he and Trina McCollister will be doing a presentation on Wednesday, October 24 from 12-1pm in The CORE Gathering Room. Please feel free to bring your own lunch and join him – he’d love to share his stories with you.

Small Group Wednesdays

We want every person here to be experiencing the power that comes through authentic, deep, life-giving relationships with friends right here at KOK. If you are in a small group already, keep that going, and keep growing as a group in your relationships with one another and with the Lord. If you usually meet in someone’s home, consider meeting here at church. Kids Kamp is back on Wednesdays and so are the delicious dinners! Not in a group yet? We have designed Wednesday nights with you in mind, so that you can get connected to a group and begin to grow together. Let us know you’re coming at kingofkingsomaha.org/wednesday-nights. Questions? Contact Kari Johnson at karij@kingofkingsomaha.org.
