Peak Challenge 2018-Climb To Glory
Band of Brothers (Men’s Ministry at King of Kings) is organizing the 2018 Peak Challenge event in Colorado. The theme for 2018 is “Climb To Glory.” The challenge this year will be held July 26-30 at Camp Hale Group Campground near Leadville. The cost is $70. The registration deadline is June 15. Band of Brothers Father Daughter Dance
Join us for the annual Band of Brothers Dad Daughter dance on April 27 from 7-9pm in the Well. Our theme this year is ‘Under The Sea.’ This is a fun night of crafts, games and refreshments for dads and daughters. There is no cost to attend, a free will donation is appreciated.
Financial Peace University is a 9-week class that teaches God’s way of handling money. Through video teaching, class discussions, and interactive small group activities, FPU presents Biblical, practical steps to get from where you are to where you’ve dreamed you could be. This plan will show you how to get rid of debt, manage your money, spend and save wisely, and much more. Join us on Wednesdays beginning May 30, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the CORE Gathering Room. Journey Coach Training class
Another Journey Coach Training class is beginning May 8! Journey Coaches come alongside people as they navigate challenging times in their life. Topics include: Listening, Caring vs.Curing, Feelings, Boundaries/Assertiveness, Providing Spiritual Care, Who Am I?, Confidentiality, caring from afar, and 1st Visits. This training is helpful for everyone! Class will meet on the 2 and 4 Tuesday evenings, from 5:30pm-7:30pm, May 8 through September 11. Email Karen Lovejoy for more information and to register.

The Seniors for the Lord group, from Divine Shepherd church are heading to Branson, Missouri this September 10-12 and you’re invited! We will see Sampson at the Sight & Sound Theatre with a behind the scenes tour prior to the performance, we will see three other shows while we are there. LWML-Orphan Grain Train
The ladies of LWML are collecting supplies for Orphan Grain Train hygiene kits for their April mission project. OGT distributes hygiene kits around the world, including the US, after weather disasters and during and after wars. A Thrivent Action Grant will assist us to increase the number of kits we are able to donate. We are looking for donations of: dark colored wash cloths and bath sized towels (27×52), bath-sized soap, sturdy combs, band aids (1/2” or 3/4”), and cash for supplies and shipping. We won’t need toothbrushes because we have received large donations of toothbrushes. Please bring all donations to the Church Office by April 23. Please label your donation LWML-OGT. Concordia Summer Sports Camps
Concordia Mustang Athletics is gearing up for youth summer sports camps. High school coaches and athletes will be working with youth athletes on skill development. Go to concordiaomaha.org to register for basketball, soccer and volleyball sports camps.
Concordia Jr.-Sr. High School, located at 156 and Fort Street in Omaha, has full-time teaching positions open for the 2018-19 school year. Openings include: Jr. High School English (literature and composition for 6-8 grade), Jr.-Sr. High School Vocal Music (grades 6-12), opportunities for working with Jr. High musical and extracurricular groups), Sr. High School Religion (grade 9 or 10). Qualified candidates will hold required Nebraska certification, be active members of a Christian congregation-with preference given to members of the LCMS, evidence love for the Lord, children, and families, and will be prepared to engage in the active life of the school. Concordia Jr./Sr. High Spring Open House
Join us for the Spring Open House at Concordia Jr.-Sr. High on Tuesday, May 1, from 6:30-8:30pm. This is a great way for students to preview Concordia. Prospective 6-12 grade students are invited to attend this event and experience a praise and worship mini-concert, meet and greet teachers, staff and coaches and as well as a tour of the facility.
